There are many ways that a dance teacher can choose to teach ballet. You can advertise your ballet classes in local directories, newspapers and online. You will need to recommend to your potential students what to wear and where to buy ballet shoes. When you are teaching ballet to beginners, they will need to wear something easy to move in. You need to teach all the basics of ballet such as how to stand, how to lift legs, how high to lift legs, how to move with music, how to bend the body, and what to do to stretch those ballet muscles. At your studio, students will use the barre or a rail to practice ballet with but at home, they will have to make do with a chair. There are many positions that students need to practice to dance elegantly. Being able to balance on one leg is important.

Below are some  books to help you teach ballet.

Ballet Beginnings for Children: Pre-School Movement Fundamentals for Ages 3 and 4 (Bk. 1)
